Add Vendor Tag Based on Consent/Reject Actions

Admin access or Domain access to property (property group) with feature access to vendor list management.

A vendor tag (also referred to as a vendor pixel) is a Javacode snippet that your vendor may ask/require your organization to include in your configuration. However, it can be the case that a vendor tag should only be added to a property only after the end-user has consented to the vendor.

In this article, we will cover how to add a vendor tag to your property(s) based on whether or not the end-user has consented to a vendor on a GDPR TCF v2 Vendor List.

Before proceeding, you will need the URL for your particular vendor tag and/or opt-out pixel.

Navigate to your Sourcepoint account and click GDPR from the top navigation bar. Select TCF v2 from the dropdown menu.

Navigate to a Vendor List on the subsequent list and click Edit.

Alternatively, navigate along the following pathways to add a vendor tag (vendor pixel) to a vendor on a GDPR non-TCF or CCPA Vendor List:

  • GDPR > Non IAB > Edit

  • CCPA > Vendor List > Edit

Navigate to the vendor on your Vendor List and click the vendor's name.

Use the subsequent modal to either add vendor tag based on consent or an opt-out pixel on reject. When finished, click Save to confirm all edits.

Add Vendor Tag Based on Consent

To add a vendor tag based on an end-user's consent, click Consent Actions in the modal and input the following script in the provided Custom JS field.

In the provided script below, replace http://ad.somevendor.net/site/c=14674/pe=y/?param=true with the URL for your vendor tag.

function addVendor(url){
var s1 = document.createElement('script');
s1.type = 'text/javascript';
s1.src = url;
try {
document.body.appendChild(s1);
}
catch (e) {
console.error("SP: Couldn't append " + s1.src + "to page. Error: " + e)
}
}
addVendor("http://ad.somevendor.net/site/c=14674/pe=y/?param=true");

Click Apply changes when finished.

Add Opt-out Pixel on Reject

Your vendor may also ask that your organization fire an opt-out pixel (opt-out tag) when an end-user rejects the vendor.

To add an opt-out pixel based on an end-user's reject action, click Reject Actions in the modal and input the following script in the provided Custom JS field.

In the provided script below, replace http://ad.somevendor.net/site/c=14674/pe=y/?param=true with the URL for your vendor tag.

var opt_out_pixel = new Image();
var opt_out_url = "http://ad.somevendor.net/site/c=14674/pe=y/?optout=true";
opt_out_pixel.src = var opt_out_url;

Click Apply changes when finished.
