Create Web and Mobile First Layer Message (GDPR TCF v2)

Admin access or Domain access to property (property group) with feature access to message/scenario partition set management.

First Layer Messages allow your organization to create a consent experience whereby end-users can accept, reject, and/or make individual choices on vendors and purposes (or navigate to a GDPR TCF v2 Privacy Manager on the property). In this article, we will cover the following for GDPR TCF v2:

As long as your organization's GDPR TCF v2 Privacy Manager satisfies all the requirements outlined by the IAB, the First Layer Message is an optional configuration.

Rather than configuring all the requirements into a GDPR TCF v2 Privacy Manager (which can lead to a very large Privacy Manager that is not user-friendly), Sourcepoint strongly recommends a "dual layer approach" using both the First Layer Message with a link to the Privacy Manager to satisfy the requirements.

Create New Web and Mobile First Layer Message for Individual Property

Click Dialogue on the top navigation bar and select a property from the subsequent list.

Select GDPR from the property navigation bar and and click Web/Webview under the TCF V2 header from the subsequent dropdown menu.

Ensure the First Layer tab is selected and then navigate to + New Message to create a new First Layer Message for web and mobile.

Use the subsequent page to customize the First Layer Message for the property and click Create Message when finished. In the following section, we will provide a brief overview of how to navigate the First Layer Message builder for web and mobile.

In this section, we will cover the basic layout of the web and mobile First Layer Message builder and how to customize components.

Configure general settings for the web and mobile First Layer Message at any time by clicking Home in the breadcrumbs and using the Settings panel on the right-hand side.

Click + in the toolbar panel to add a new component to the builder. To customize the component (or any other component, click the component in the builder and use the Settings panel on the right-hand side to customize the details of that component.

The First Layer Message breadcrumbs will enable you to quickly see which component you are currently editing.

To delete a component, highlight the component and click the Delete icon in the toolbar panel.

Apply your custom styling by adding the CSS Handle to a component.
